Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Dr. Samer Dajani spent ‘Eid al-Adha in the company of muslims for all over the Ummah in Alqueria de Rosales.
For the last 15 years Alqueria de Rosales has had the great honour of hosting this important event dedicated to the study of the works and teachings of Imam al-Ghazali.
Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad was educated at Cambridge, Al-Azhar and London universities. He is currently the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer of Islamic Studies in the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University, Director of Studies in Theology at Wolfson College and Chairman of the Cambridge Mosque Trust. He is the Founder and Dean of the Cambridge Muslim College. He has published and contributed to numerous academic works on Islam, including as Director of the Sunna Project, and is a leading figure in inter-faith activity, notably as one of the signatories to the Common Word statement. He is well-known as a contributor to BBC Radio 4’s ‘Thought for the Day’.
Dr. Samer Dajani received an Alimiyya degree from al-Salam Institute (London), a BA in Arab & Islamic Civilizations from the American University in Cairo, and an MA and PhD in Islamic Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London). He is also currently completing an MSc in International Business from Birkbeck University. His main areas of focus are: jurisprudence (legal theory), comparative fiqh, the different schools of Islamic spirituality, the science of Hadith criticism and the methodology of the canonical books of Hadith. He is the author of Sufis and Sharia: The Forgotten School of Mercy (Edinbrugh University Press, 2023), which looks at theories on the merciful nature of the Sharia, as well as other works. He was a Research Fellow at Cambridge Muslim College in 2015/16.

During the Ghazali Retreat of 2023 Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad delivered the Friday khutbah in Rosales Mosque.

During the Ghazali Retreat of 2022 Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad delivered two khutbahs in Rosales Mosque. One in the day of Arafa; the second one the day of Eid al-Adha.
Al-Ghazali Retreat 2018. The Secrets of the Prayer
The Ghazali Retreat 2017 centered on Book 37 of Imam al-Ghazali’s Revival of the Religious Sciences, entitled ‘The Book of Intention, Sincerity and Truthfulness’. The objective for the participants was to gain clearer knowledge of the reasons for the turbulences of the inner live and to gain practical awareness of how Islamic spirituality transforms human beings into more centred and conscious beings.
